Priory Preparatory School has long nurtured in its pupils and staff a sense of social responsibility and community partnership. We have had connections with local schools, groups, charities and individuals for many years and continue to do so as we contribute to the on going success of our local community.
1 Community use of the facilities
Priory Preparatory School has impressive facilities that enhance the curriculum and give its pupils the opportunity to fulfill its aims as stated in the mission statement. Located just off the High Street in Banstead the school is physically very much part of the village and members of the local community regularly visit the school. As a result, we make our facilities available to the local community where and whenever possible. For example the Banstead Music Society meet here every Thursday during term time and Banstead Cricket Club Junior Section train in the Indoor cricket nets on a Sunday in the summer.
2 Charitable use of the School’s facilities
Priory Preparatory School’s facilities are also used free of charge. A local school uses the field for their Sports Days, the hall is used for the Banstead Horticultural Society AGM and meetings of local political groups. Banstead Arts Festival holds various events at the school during their popular Arts Week. Banstead Cricket Club Junior Section uses the School fields for some of their matches.

The School organizes many fund raising events each term to support worthy local and national charities, usually although not exclusively, associated with children. In raising funds it is our intention to educate our students as well as to provide worthwhile sums for charities. Typically we raise funds annually for:
The School also works regularly in Banstead woods and other areas with the Countryside Commission in maintaining the condition of the environment, for example, in repairing fences, cutting down unwanted foliage or planting trees. We also regularly visit Old People’s homes and entertain them or help them. We also help local shops with traffic or pedestrian counts as a cross curricular theme. Priory Preparatory School is a supporter of the May Queen and Parade and the Headmaster has acted as Prizegiver at local events.
Priory Preparatory School maintains Garton Field off Garratts Lane in Banstead at no cost to the local community thus ensuring that residents can have an open space for recreation and enjoyment.
