Anxious faces (from the parents!) were spread across the school’s carpark as Year 3 departed School on their first residential school trip, to Sayers Croft. The excitement was building amongst the boys as they anticipated a busy, but very much enjoyable, couple of days away from home.
We named Thursday ‘Adventure Day’, with some of the activities including: exploring a huge and impressive plastic cave; working as a team to build and sail rafts; hunting for clues around the site; searching for the names of buildings; roasting marshmallows over the campfire; and playing with giant board games. Although making their beds seemed to be the most challenging!
Friday was a day full of teamwork challenges. In small groups, the boys attempted a range of problem solving activities, where they had to think carefully and work effectively as a team. Throughout the trip, Year 3 behaved exceptionally well. Sayers Croft was thoroughly enjoyed, with many lasting memories created.
