U11A at the Nationals Rugby Finals Day
Three years ago, this group of players made their debut at the Regionals. They picked up a couple of wins and a couple of loses; they learnt a lot. The following year, they did the same. This year, they achieved what they deserved and made Finals Day - the most prestigious stage for Prep school rugby with the biggest and best rugby Prep schools assembling from across the country. We arrived knowing that there would not be an easy game. We suffered four losses against quality opposition - QEGS (Wakefield), Wellingborough (Midlands), Kings House (Richmond) and The New Beacon (Kent). Priory battled hard all day and managed to breach the oppositions' defence on two occasions: once against Wellingborough with a wonderful passage of play finished clinically by Calum Maddick and once against The New Beacon in a great second half which we won with Callum Noonan finishing a team effort well. The whole team showed great character in a high pressure environment and gave a fitting end to a journey that started three years ago. Well done boys - you should be extremely proud of your achievements.
