Admissions are open now for a place in our Reception class from September 2016. See here for more details. Alternatively, they could join our incredible nursery now as a perfect introduction to our school.
Can my child arrive mid-term?
Vacancies may arise during the term due to family circumstances changing. It is therefore not uncommon for a child to begin mid-term if a place exists, subject to the normal Admissions Process.
Can the School meet special educational needs?
During the informal assessment every practical step will be taken to accommodate the needs of the child. Extra time, a word processor or other support equipment can be used however parents are required to inform the school in advance. If a child has an educational psychologist’s report, a copy should be sent to the school with the registration form.
What if my child uses English as an additional language (EAL)?
Not speaking English upon application is not a barrier to prospective pupils as EAL is taught, as a chargeable service, and boys have benefitted from and have been successful in this approach.
Can overseas students attend Priory?
Very often students arrive from overseas. It is often not practical for a child to travel to the school prior to attending. Reports can be sent by post or e-mail and the Headmaster can speak to the Head of a boy’s current school or obtain a written school report. If successful and subject to a 'taster day' the child can start shortly thereafter.
Do you ensure brothers can attend the School?
In keeping with Priory Preparatory School’s family ethos every attempt will be made to accommodate brothers subject to the same entrance criteria and the needs and well-being of the child.
My child is in pre-prep at the School, will he automatically move into The Prep School?
In general, Year 2 pupils moving into the Preparatory School will do so automatically unless it is felt that the Preparatory School is unable to meet the needs of the child. In any such case parents will be informed by the end of the Spring Term. There is a 5% discount for a second child. Current Year 2 boys are welcome to apply for a scholarship to the Preparatory School.
Can your policies change?
The policies may be amended by the Governing Body.
What happens if there are no spaces available?
The School operates a waiting list in each year group as appropriate. Pupils are required to be registered and parents will be contacted as a place becomes available.
