Our incredible nursery welcomes boys from the age of two where they stay before joining one of our two Reception classes.
Our outstanding staff create a sensitive and happy environment, in which boys thrive and gain confidence. The boys have their own well-resourced, lively and colourful classrooms and a bespoke outdoor play area and we aim to provide a nurturing link between boys’ home environment and our own Pre-Preparatory department.
A structured learning programme – which includes free-play, indoor and outdoor physical activities, music, drama, creative work and group activities – provides firm foundations for all future learning. Through these activities we identify and teach key skills such as co-ordination, social behaviour, independence and early reading, writing and number skills.
In this way, small boys gain the confidence they need to make a smooth move to our pre-preparatory department.
Boys also visit our Woodland School where they take part in a variety of Woodland activities, designed to enhance their learning by gradually building up their skills and confidence of working and playing in a natural environment. Dressed in their waterproofs and wellies, the boys enjoy the experience of collecting leaves, splashing in puddles and generally investigating!
Morning only: 8.30am to 12.30pm
All-day nursery: 8.30am to 3.00pm
All children, whether they attend in the morning only, or all day, will have a nourishing lunch, freshly prepared on-site.
Breakfast Club is available from 7.30am and After School Care is available until 6pm. More information can be found here.
In order to benefit from the variety of learning opportunities available at Priory, boys need to attend at least two morning sessions a week and can attend up to five full days. Where we have availability, we will always try to accommodate the needs of parents and their sons regarding nursery sessions. For boys attending in the morning only, we recommend increasing the number of sessions as they move into their Pre-School year.
We currently have some spaces available at our nursery. Please contact our Admissions Manager, Su Brailey, about attending an Open Event or arranging a tour of the Nursery and Pre-Prep School. Then simply complete a registration form and return this together with the £50 registration fee.
